Versatility is the goal of Reebok’s SS13 running range. Whether it’s varying your tempo, distances or gradients, this collection aims to adapt to the different types of runners out there. The Sublite Duo is one of three shoes introduced this spring summer together with the Realflex and Zigtech.
The Sublite Duo’s aim is to provide comfort and durability while giving good support and stability to the runner with its Sublite foam technology.
First Impressions
Aesthetics wise, the Sublite Duo has a rather simple design but do not underestimate it. What it lacks in design, it makes up for it with its innovative technology. The lightweight mesh upper gives the wearer’s feet great breathability and has a special 3DExoFilm technology made of special material that provides a seamless no-sew upper for minimal friction.
Width is very important to me so the Sublite Duo looked really promising as it appeared broad enough to accommodate runners with wider feet. It’s called the Duo because of its dual function in the foam. The midsole had a soft density foam directly under the foot for maximum comfort while the firmer density foam can be found closer to the ground for maximum responsiveness when the feet lands with each stride. Weight wise, it was rather light but do not expect it to be in the same division as minimalist shoes.
Let’s Run
I hardly wear Reebok but this shoe surprised me with its performance. Right from putting on the shoe to running the last few steps. Each stride was immensely comfortable and I loved how the moulded PU sockliner felt against my ankle area as it provided the perfect balance of comfort and feel.
Whether it was pounding the pavement or on the track, I could feel the steady support it gave me while I was running. It was really a pleasant running experience and the Sublite Duo accommodated the gradual expansion of my feet rather well after running longer distances.
Runner’s Boon
- Great support and durability
- Ultra comfortable, even after long distance of 10km or more
- Accommodated broad feet rather well
- Good cushioning and anti-friction material used
