Last Saturday, more than 200 runners came together to celebrate adidas Runners Singapore (AR SG) 2nd Anniversary in the 2KM Hustle at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Sports & Recreation Centre’s running track.
The event was also joined by adidas Runners members from its global community, namely Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia and Munich.
adidas Runners Singapore welcomed runners of all fitness levels and running experience in Singapore to achieve their fastest 2KM personal best timing as well as for the community.
Unlike others, this record-setting event, was not about competing against one another but instead, to push each other to new personal bests. With this in mind, adidas Runners Singapore sets the first-ever AR record of 10 minutes 55 seconds as a collective unit.
Showing the True Spirit of adidas Runners
This amazing feat was a result of the commitment the community has shown to all the different weekly AR sessions that has helped improve them as urban runners.
In the spirit of leaving no one behind, adidas Runners who were not able to make it for the actual 2KM Hustle, can still be part of the 2nd anniversary celebrations by contributing their fastest 2km timing on social media.
In their own time, they just have to track their fastest 2KM using a running app, take a screenshot of the run details and post it on Instagram with #adidasRunnersSG. Runners who take part in this online activation by 27 October, 11.59pm will have their run timings included into the official AR 2KM HUSTLE pace.
adidas Runners’ 2nd anniversary was more than just a running event. Everyone attending the event gets to experience the different pillars of adidas Runners:
- Movement: Demonstrated in the 2KM Hustle, regardless of running experience, the runners were brought on a guided run to increase the quality of their movement by beating their personal running records
- Recovery: Runners could enjoy a recovery session with professional Stretch therapists from Dr Strech
- Mindset: After the run, everyone participated in adidas Runners’ first ever sunset yoga session led by local yoga instructor Erica Tenggera, who brought an awareness back to the body with a simple yoga practice
adidas Runners Singapore is part of a global movement that spans across 50 cities around the world with one goal – to become better: better runners, better athletes and, ultimately, better humans.
