Ready Racer is a unique training program organised by Train Live Compete, in collaboration with RacingThePlanet, famed for their 4 Deserts race series. Ready Racer aims to provide exposure to participants in safe, conducive learning environment on established race routes. Understanding that your timing availability may be constrained, Ready Racer programs will take place over a weekend, so that your weekday schedules will not affected.
Ready Racer Hong Kong kicks off on 23-24 Sep 2017, with more Ready Racer programs are being planned in other Asian cities that offer different climates, elevation, terrain and scenery.
To be ready for your upcoming races, ideally you would like to be well prepared, especially in races with undulating terrains and elevation gains. Fortunately, Hong Kong is the mecca for trails in Asia, especially that it’s easily connected from many cities. And within Hong Kong itself, the trails are easily accessed from MTR stations. Ready Racer Hong Kong offers you the short weekend guided training if you’re preparing yourself for races there, or even within the region.
Alternatively, if you’ve raced in Hong Kong previously, and want to enjoy the views with a more relaxed pace, then this may also do for you.
As well, you may have new equipment such as trekking poles, headlights, backpack or hydration system that you want to test prior to your races, then Ready Racer Hong Kong will be suitable for you.
Training will be guided by Ms. Liew Wei Yong, a Singapore ultramarathoner who has competed in many trail events as well as multi-stage races in Gobi and Sahara deserts. She received a bronze trophy for her sub-24 hour effort for HK100 2017, and is also a certified fitness instructor. Wei Yong will be assisted by Mason Kwan Wai Chun, a Hong Kong elite who is regular podium finisher in tough ultra races, with his most recent win at TNF 100 Korea. Training will be conducted in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
