The Light of Hope Run was originally called the Make A Difference Race in 2015 and 2016. Organised by TOUCH Community Services and spearheaded by a group of volunteers. The race aims to raise public awareness and fight the social stigma related to depression and mental health. This year, TOUCH has rebranded the run event with a new logo and renamed the run event to “Light of Hope”. The new logo signifies love, light and hope, where it is to encourage all mental health patients to step out of darkness into the light. The Light of Hope Run wants all patients to know that this is possible, because they have family and friends to support them in their journey towards the light. The event features a 7km competitive run and a 3.5km buddy fun run/walk.
