Kanyathon 2018, the 7th installation of an event organized by IFIM Group of Institutions in association with S.A.F.E (Students Against Female Exploitation), an organization formed by the students of IFIM, is a charity fundraiser involving a 5k run, 10k run. It aims at bringing to light the unjust exploitation of the girl child and women in our country and help promote women empowerment.
Kanyathon began as an awareness campaign but through growing participation and drive of the community, it has progressed into a successful fundraiser. The proceeds gathered from Kanyathon are donated to CRY (Child Rights and You), an NGO that believes in every child’s right to a childhood – to live, learn, grow and play.
Owing to the increasing popularity of the event over the years, we have divided the 10k run into two separate subgroups, a 10k competitive run for professionals and a 10k non-competitive run. Participants in both 10k runs will be allotted timing chips as compared to just the competitive run last year. Events conducted last year for children will also see a return.
