The annual Emer Casey fun run and walk on Sunday, 27 May 2018 is at Jells Park in Wheelers Hill, Victoria.
This event is run in aid of ovarian cancer to raise funds for Peter Mac.
When Irish Solicitor Emer Casey died of ovarian cancer in June 2006 at the age of 28, her family vowed to do all they could to help progress research into early detection of the disease known as “the silent killer”. The Emer Casey Foundation was established in Emer’s Memory and this is the seventh year of the Emer Casey Fun Run in Melbourne.
The money raised is donated to support the Peter Mac Foundation VBCRC Cancer Genetics Program and the Kathleen Cunningham Foundation Consortium both of which focus on research into Familial Breast and Ovarian Cancer.
