This year, ASICS will be doing its part for charity on Global Running Day, which takes place on 7 June, 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. (All pace groups Flag Off at 7.00pm, cut-off timing is at 8.30pm). Event ends with a lucky draw at 9 p.m.
An event has been organised for runners to collectively achieve the maximum distance possible within 90 minutes. The run will start from and end at the Suntec City North Wing foyer.
Members of the ASICS Running Club (Singapore) have pledged to take part in the event. All other Singapore residents are welcome.
ASICS hopes that the runners will better the distance of 1018.95km clocked at the 2016 ASICS Running Club Beat The Sun Challenge.
For every kilometre clocked, the company will donate $1. Participants can nominate charities of their choice.
“We want to celebrate the joys of running in a meaningful way, especially since ASICS has cemented its reputation in the design and manufacture of running shoes,” says Kenji Oh, Marketing Director, ASICS Asia Pte. Ltd.
