You probably know someone who has gone to Taiwan or is planning to, or perhaps you are. And little wonder because it’s a hotspot of scrumptious food, beautiful sceneries, diverse and rich culture, and much more. Here’s another reason to add to your list: be a spectator and supporter of the massive Taipei Marathon!
On Sunday, 20 December 2015, a staggering 27,000 runners – 7,000 marathoners, 12,000 half-marathoners and 8,000 10 km runners – will gather at Taipei City Hall Plaza.
Organised by Chinese Taipei Road Running Association (CTRRA) and the Taipei City Government, the full and half marathons will flag off at 6:30 a.m. while the 10 km runners will set off half an hour later.
Running through Taiwan’s capital city, runners will be overlooking the city landscape, bridges and water parks.
The top 10 marathoners and leading three half marathoners will receive cash prizes while the top three 10 km Open Group Race winners, as well as the first three in the Visually Handicapped Group across the three distances will be awarded trophies and gifts.
