The event will be held over a three-day period starting from 28 September to 30 September 2018 and the majority of the athletes will range between 25 to 45 years old.

“We hope that visitors and participants will be able to experience Malaysia’s landscape through the unique ambiance and race routes. Malaysia has continuously proven itself to be a suitable destination for internationally renowned sporting events such as Ironman and Oceanman, which have attracted thousands of athletes and participants from all over the world. These extreme multisport competitions have cultivated strong sporting sentiments for the country over the years and we are honoured to be part of it once again.
This time it will be at Johor’s upcoming hidden gem, Desaru Coast. I would like to thank the event organiser of XTERRA Malaysia Special Edition 2018 for selecting Desaru Coast as Johor and Malaysia’s international sporting event host. International events such as XTERRA will help boost the local economy through tourism from participants and spectators. With that, Johor is no longer a mere transit point for travellers but an international tourist hub. In the recent years, Johor has seen a steady increase of tourist arrivals through an increasing effort from the state’s economic development body. We hope to see more of such events in the near future.
Managing director of Tough Gorilla, Azura Zainol Abidin said,
We are honoured to organise such an event and would like to thank all our partners for having the confidence and trust in us. Execution and planning for events of this scale require experience, hard work and dedication to effectively cater to everyone’s needs. It is of utmost importance that we ensure the event is carried out seamlessly and efficiently with success,
