Runners League 2017 is a series of four races held on four different dates and four different zones in Singapore.
The first race will kick off in the North zone on 10 June 2017, at Coney Island.
Race Details
Two categories are offered in Runners League 2017 – the 5km fun run and the 10km competitive run.
Only participants in the 10km competitive run will have their race timings recorded.
The cut-off times for the 5km and 10km run are 2 hours and 3 hours respectively.
Participants have to be at least 14 years old to join the 10km competitive run while a minimum age of 5 years old applies for the 5km fun run.
1st Leg: Where Friendships Are Forged
The first leg in the Runners League will be held on 10 June 2017 in the North region of Singapore at Coney Island.
Coney Island is a relatively new attraction that opened its doors to the public less than 2 years ago. It is located on an actual island off Punggol, in the most north-eastern part of Singapore.
Be prepared to take in the beauty of the natural island surroundings and immerse yourself in the flora and fauna as you breeze through the trails and roads. Of course, don’t forget to forge friendships with your alliances!
2nd Leg: Reinforcing Friendships
Following the North region, the Runners League will move on to its second zone in the East region of Singapore, at the Gardens by the Bay on 26 August 2017.
Runners can look forward to take in Singapore’s iconic views of the Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage, Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer.
3rd Leg: An Alliance of Runners, A Family of Runners
The third leg of the Runners League 2017 will happen on 7 October 2017 in the South/Central zone of Singapore, at the Siloso Beach Walk, Sentosa.
Renowned as one of Singapore’s favourite leisure destination, Sentosa will be a great location to bond once again with alliances who you can now call family.
4th Leg: The Final Showdown
The Runners League will conclude its final leg in the West of Singapore, with the location remaining a mystery to inject suspense for running enthusiasts.
Clues will be introduced as the final leg approaches but from what we know now, it will be a new route that many will be pleased to be introduced to.
The location will be disclosed one month before the race.
How It Works
Timings of the top 100 10km runners (men and women) from each zone will be computed and summed up at the end of each race. The zone with the shortest combined time will be crowned the winner for that leg.
Runners from all four legs will gather at the final leg of Runners League 2017, where the champion zone will be announced. Runners from the champion zone will receive an additional mystery gift.
