Mark your calendars for Sunday, 10 January 2016. Previously known as the Multi-Purpose Insurans Run, the MPI Generali Run is back in Padang Merbuk, Kuala Lumpur for its fifth edition.
Anticipating 5,200 participants, the annual community run event will comprise of four distances: 12 km, 9 km, 5 km, and a 3 km Fun Walk. The top 10 finishers in the 12 and 9 km categories will be awarded prizes and trophies.
My First Run Clinic
To help participants gear up for the MPI Generali Run, organisers have launched ‘My First Run Clinic’, a series of eight training sessions for both new and seasoned runners. Some of these run clinic sessions will also feature a talk by a running or fitness expert, such as ambassador for Adidas Malaysia, Mark Williams.
Happening every Saturday from 24 October 2015, each My First Run Clinic session will start at 7:30 a.m. with a run around Padang Merbuk, also the location for the upcoming MPI Generali Run 2016. Loosely based on a Beginner’s Running Program by the New York Road Runners, the training sessions are designed to familiarise and warm participants up to the terrain of the race. To round off the training programme, the final session on 12 December 2015 will feature a fellowship run as well as pot luck breakfast.
We are excited to be able to hold My First Run Clinic again. We hope at the end of this two-month programme, the participants will have taken their running to the next level.
