Looking to challenge your inner spirit together with your physical condition? Nature trail enthusiasts, here’s a unique and extreme outdoor running event you won’t want to miss! Deemed one of Indonesia’s best trail runs, the MesaStila Challenge and Ultra will be taking place in Central Java from Friday, 9 October 2015 to Sunday, 11 October 2015.
Following the success debut in 2014, this year’s event will host two additional race categories – 42 km full marathon and 100 km ultra – on top of the existing 13 km, 21 km, and 65 km categories.
Escape into another world as you course through the dense, overgrown jungle trails that reveal small village gems and plots of rice paddy fields. Let your imagination wander with you as you picture the stories and flurry of activities that once took place on the now unused train tracks, uncovered rail bridges. Climb up to five mountains in the heart of Java and conquer a cumulative gain of up to 7758 m.
While the categories vary in distance and elevation, all races and ultras will be very challenging. Besides tackling tough terrain and intimidating bridge crossings, participants – especially in the 42 km, 65 km and 100 km events – have to prepare the right gear and equipment, as well as manage their fatigue well.
There will be a technical meeting for all entrants to attend on the afternoon of Friday, 9 October, on top of the briefing before flag off for the longer distance trail runners. First aid stations will be on hand with food and drinks, together with water stations that will provide only water.
The top 3 male and female runners in every category will receive awards, but everyone will look forward to one of the best rewards the race has to offer—a well-deserved rest in the MesaStila retreat at the end of an arduous and adrenaline-pumping trail adventure.
