On Sunday, 28 March 2015, more than 3,000 members of the public, corporate workers and university students are expected to gather with a message. Making a symbolic statement to race against time, a 10km hike will aim to create awareness on the importance of conserving rainforests.
Into its third consecutive year, the race is organized by Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam (PEKA), a prominent Malaysian rainforest conservation advocate. The eco event will be held at Hutan Lipur Kuala Woh, Perak, Malaysia. Registration and refreshments will start from 7:00 a.m. and the Save Our Rainforest Race flag-off will be two hours later.
Save the Forests
Besides the mass nature walk, there will also be enriching activities like checkpoint challenges and tree-planting, so all participants will have the opportunity to learn and appreciate nature.
Since this event is a peaceful hike through nature, you do not need to run. You are also advised not to make loud noises and litter. Complete the race orderly and enjoy the beautiful forest.
