The inaugural edition of the Ultra Trail Hong Kong (UTHK) will offer two long distance courses of 175km and 92km, with a cumulative altitude gain of 9,500m and 5,100m respectively.
The challenging ultra trail, held from 27 February 2014 to 1 March 2014 in the Northern Territories, will feature a total of 14 and 8 sections in Course A (175km) and Course B (92km) respectively.
Opener for the Asia Trail Master series
Having partnered with the Asia Trail Master series (ATMs), Ultra Trail Hong Kong is the first event on the ATMs’ 2015 calender. Ultra trail lovers will get to challenge for the ultimate trail master crown in Asia starting with this exciting event!
Ultra Trail Hong Kong wishes to connect with flagship long distance trail running events such as France’s Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) and Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji (UTMF) in Japan. As such, differentiate itself from other established races in Hong Kong. With a long-term strategy for UTHK, organiser Augustine Wong of Ultra looks forward to the collaboration with Asia Trail Master and turn the new event into a highlight on many a runner’s calendar. The start will be given in the North West New Territories on Friday the 27th of February and finish at Sai Kung.
The 175km category will start on 27 February 2015 at 1:00 p.m. and the 92km category will commerce the next day on 28 February 2015 at 8:00 a.m. The cut off time limit for the 175km is 50 hours and for the 92km, it will be 31 hours.
The cost for the 175km category is HK$2,000 and for the 92km category, it is HK$1,200.
For the first edition, registrations are not unlimited so it is recommended to sign up early! Registration closes on 31 January 2015 and there will be no registration on race day.
In additional to its own prizes and trophies, every finisher will score points for the 2015 Asia Trail Master ranking according to the standard points regulations, so you have additional reasons to sign up for this event.
