Extend your Hari Raya celebrations with a weekend packed with exciting activities at Raya at Sports Hub from 4 to 5 May 2024. Hosted inside Kallang Wave Mall, the event offers an enriching cultural experience with performances, workshops, and much more, ensuring something enjoyable for everyone.
Hari Raya Timeless Traditions and Cultural Performances
Dive into the heart of Malay culture with captivating traditional performances, including Malay dances, Kompang ensemble renditions, and Silat martial arts demonstrations. These cultural showcases not only highlight the beauty and depth of Malay traditions but also provide a rich cultural experience for attendees of all ages.
In addition to performances, visitors can immerse themselves in well-loved activities such as henna art and participate in workshops on batik painting and modern and Arabic calligraphy. Activities and performances are scheduled from 2 pm to 9 pm on both days, and participation is free.
Electrifying Musical Performances by Local Stars
The celebrations will feature enchanting live performances by local talents Shazza and Sezairi Sezali. Shazza, known for her collaboration with Canadian pop duo Crash Adams, will perform on 4 May.
Sezairi Sezali, the first Singaporean artist to surpass 100 million Spotify streams and a winner of Singapore Idol 2009, will take the stage on 5 May. Attendees will also have the chance to meet these artists during the event.
Visual Arts and Interactive Exhibitions
For the first time, Singapore Sports Hub has partnered with National Gallery Singapore to introduce the Roving Art Truck. Visitors can engage with this unique feature on 4 May from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm at the OCBC Square. This dynamic installation will showcase artworks from the National Collection by prominent Singaporean and Southeast Asian artists. Additionally, patrons can participate in complimentary hands-on activities, such as coloring fans with Raya motifs.
The Raya pop-up installation at the Water Sports Centre, available until 19 May, offers a beautiful backdrop perfect for capturing cherished memories. Whether it’s an #OOTD, a family photo, or an aesthetic snap, it’s the ideal spot for photography enthusiasts.
