The Chiang Mai Marathon 2014 will be held on Sunday, 21 December 2014. The 9th edition of this iconic race in the most famous tourist attraction city of Northern Thailand has attracted runners from more than 30 countries around the world.
Run in the Most Culturally Significant City in Northern Thailand
There are four categories for the event: the marathon, half marathon, 10km minimarathon, and the 3km Kids Run and Walk.
The marathon will start at 4:00 a.m. while the subsequent categories will head off consecutively at 5, 6 and 7 a.m. The starting and ending point will be The Thapae Gate of Chiang Mai Province, Thailand and the race route will encompass the Chiangmai old Town and Royalflora Expo. The terrain will be on flat road with temperatures of 12 – 16°C to be expected.
Chiang Mai, the city with an unique identity, packed with natural spots and historical sites is set to entertain and intrigue runners with its traditional art, culture, local customs, and festivals.
The price of a race ticket ranges from THB200 to THB1,500 for different category. Overseas participant tickets will be slightly more expensive.
