The Silent Thief of Sight, or Glaucoma, is now one of the world’s leading cause of irreversible blindness! Already afflicting more than 70 million people worldwide, this figure is expected to swell to an overwhelming 88 million by 2020 according to WHO. In Malaysia, more than 100,000 people are estimated to be affected by Glaucoma.
In conjunction with World Glaucoma Week, the Malaysia Glaucoma Society and Save Ones Sight Missions will be organising the fun-filled Run For Sight- Blindfold Run to raise the awareness about Glaucoma among Malaysians.
Experience what it’s like to take your precious God-given eyesight for granted. Happening on Sunday, 15 March 2015 at Desa Park City in Kuala Lumpur, the 5km Blindfold Run will see an estimated crowd of 1,000 participants running blindfolded in pairs.
Mainly sponsored by Perdana Park City Sdn Bhd, all funds raised from the event will be channelled to the Malaysia Glaucoma Society’s Glaucoma Children Care Program and its operations cost.
