Following a great success in the previous edition which saw more than 6,000 participants from over 50 countries, the Laguna Phuket International Marathon is back with its 10th edition in 2015! Taking place on Sunday, 7 June 2015, this year’s race in Phuket, Thailand is expecting 7,000 runners and walkers to participate.
Starting and finishing at Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort, the event will flag off five different categories: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10.5km Run, 5km Community Walk and a 2km Kids Run.
The race features an out and back course with a loop for the last 10km. Following the course out of Laguna, marathon and half marathon runners will then head north through local villages as well as pineapple and rubber plantations. You will get to appreciate the lush vegetation Phuket has to offer on this scenic course.
What better way to charge up on carbs than with a pre-race Pasta Party? Meet with fellow runners and share your experiences with one another. You will be greeted by the organisers and receive valuable last minute tips from the race director, too. Dig in to a five-star buffet while the Laguna Phuket house band performs. Pasta Party tickets are sold at the race expo on Friday, 5 June 2015 between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., or at Laguna Grove’s Big Marquee on Saturday, June 6 2015 between 10:00 am and 5:00 p.m.
After the race, refuel with a light meal of fruits, noodles and soup waiting at the Finish Area. Athletes can also enjoy a complimentary post-race massage in the massage tent. There will also be a Farewell BBQ, though details are not confirmed yet.
The top male and female runners, as well as the top three in each age category, in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10.5km Run will be awarded trophies. Every finisher will also get to take home a commemorative medal.

If you sign up from today till 31 May 2015, you’ll pay 3,450 THB for the Marathon, 3,100 THB for the Half Marathon, 2,700 THB for the 10.5km Run, 500 THB for the 5km Community Walk and 200 THB for the 2km Kids Run. There is also a last minute registration booth on-site on 5 and 6 June 2015, but the first three categories will cost 450 THB extra and a 50 THB late fee applies to the 5km Community Walk.
