Talking to animals is everyday business for DreamWorks animators, zookeepers and kids who fervently believe that stuffed toys make great conversationalists. So on 24th June, kids and kids-at-heart can make a dream or two come true by showing up at a fanciful DreamWorks Day Run sure to be remembered by participants.
Entitlements are awesome and include a t-shirt depicting everyone’s favourite casts of animated DreamWorks characters, but the best part of this experience will be helping your child build a healthy body and develop a positive attitude toward exercise.
About the premier DreamWorks Day Run
You already know the venue because it is one of Singapore’s favourites: Gardens by the Bay; Bay East Garden. Kids can get their naps early so they’re refreshed and ready to go when flag-offs set kids off on fun journeys alongside DreamWorks characters between the hours of 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Parents: This means they’re home and in bed at a decent hour with visions of critters dancing in their heads.
Children up for the challenge — and their designated adults — can register for either of the three different packages: the 5km Fun Run + carnival, or the 800m Kid’s Dash + carnival. In case your little ones aren’t quite ready to run with the animals, register the third option (DreamWorks Theme carnival) so they also get to soak into the DreamWorks atmosphere.
Dressed in perhaps the most adorable t-shirts ever produced for a kids’ event, little runners will need to stop long enough to be photographed with colourful, beloved DreamWorks characters. Parents: you don’t have to feel left out; If the urge to be photographed with a dragon, monkey or giraffe strikes your fancy, jump into the shot.
Is the 5km Fun Run perfect for your child?
No conditioning training required for already-active kids who still have plenty of energy left for mischief even after 5km! Register your children for this event and they will bring home a bounty of goodies: The official t-shirt, temporary tattoo, race bib, cap, finisher’s medal and tote bag, all featuring those crazy DreamWorks animated characters.
Children as young as age 4 can register for the 5km as long as parents complete a consent form. Want to bring an entire team of kids made up of 30 schoolmates or neighbourhood friends? It’s your job to round up the kids, but once you’ve got your runners, register your group here.
By the way, you can bring along your strollers though baby sling is hugely preferred.
How about the Kid’s Dash?
Open to all kids between the ages of 4 and 12, the 800m DreamWorks Kids Dash has been designed specifically for kids, so once parents sign consent and indemnity forms, children are turned loose to plunder one of the most delightful courses organisers have ever dreamed up.
Your youngster will be slotted into one of three waves: Wave 1 for ages 10-to-12, kids ages 7 thru 9 make up wave 2 and the littlest competitors (ages 4-to-6) will be in wave 3. Parents can register themselves with a baby in their arms if that bundle happens to measure less than 0.9m, and there’s no charge for the kid who rides piggyback!
Don’t Forget the DreamWorks Themed Carnival!
Whether your child is keen to take part in the fun run or skip the athletic portion of this event, you can opt for just carnival. Carnival-only registrants get a Carnival Cash Coupon to be used on site and will receive an official Event T-Shirt and Temporary Tattoo too.
We would not disclose all of the carnival activities, games and attractions right now, but the planning committee composed of Shrek’s donkey, one wild-eyed lion, a goofy zebra and a clueless hippo are still putting together arrangements for the big day!
As soon as you register, bookmark the carnival tab and plan to check back for details as the date grows near.
