You love running. You want to do good for the less-fortunate people but are too occupied with work, family and running commitments. Here’s a solution: join charity runs. Not only will you be benefited physically from the workout, your heart will feel content knowing that you have made a difference in someone else’s life.
With so many charity runs in the second half of 2017, you are truly spoilt for choice. Here is the line-up of charity runs, sorted chronologically.
1. Unlabelled Run 2017
Date: 8 July 2017 (Sunday)
Time: 6 a.m.
Venue: Punggol Waterway Park
Distance: 5km and 10km
Unlabelled Run is about tearing off the labels that society put on ex-offenders. It’s about recognising that ex-offenders have transformed beyond their pasts to become contributors of the society. Come support these changed men and their works by joining either a 5km fun run or 10km competitive run.
2. World Vision’s Race For Relief 2017
Date: 15 July 2017 (Sunday)
Time: 5 p.m.
Venue: Stadium Riverside Walk
Distance: 5km
More than 20 million of people in East Africa are in a fragile balance between life and death due to drought and conflict. Families are running to seek food, water and shelter. World Vision’s Race For Relief allows you to run so that they don’t have to anymore. Join this family-friendly run by choosing a team: Drought Relief, Hunger Relief or War Relief. The proceeds from this race will help to bring emergency humanitarian relief to the vulnerable families.
3. Run For Good Durian 5KM Run 2017
Date: 23 July 2017 (Sunday)
Time: 8 a.m.
Venue: Ci Yuan Community Club
Distance: 5km
Run for Good Durian is a unique themed run where participants run for 5km while carrying durian. At the end of the run, runners get to enjoy the fruit of their labour and be rewarded with a medal and coconut. Proceeds from the run will go to Ang Mo Kio-Hougang CCC Community Development and Welfare Fund.
4. Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer 2017
Date: 30 July 2017 (Sunday)
Time: 7 a.m.
Venue: Angsana Green (East Coast Park)
Distance: 5km, 10km and 15km
Statistics show that 37 cancer cases are diagnosed every day. Moreover, 1 in 3 patients loses the battle each year. Organised by Singapore Cancer Society (SCS), the Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer race aims to raise funds to fight against cancer. Let’s join the movement!
5. Ground Zero Run For Humanity 2017
Date: 13 August 2017 (Sunday)
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Venue: Casuarina Grove, East Coast Park
Distance: 1km, 5km and 10km
The Ground Zero Run challenges participants with the simulated experience of a survivor’s journey from ground zero – the disaster site – to collect urgent supplies needed in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. Participants will take on a similar challenge as they carry a relief pack weighing 5-7kg for their choice of 1km (for kids and parent), 5km or 10km. All relief packs from the event will be distributed to local families in need to mark Mercy Relief’s observance of World Humanitarian Day.
6. Frost & Sullivan Corporate Challenge 2017
Date: 19 August 2017 (Saturday)
Time: 7 a.m.
Venue: MacRitchie Reservoir Park
Distance: 5km and 10km
Singapore is facing a rapidly ageing population. This year’s Frost the Trail seeks to raise not just proceeds, but also promote awareness about the challenges in Dignified Ageing. All proceeds from the event will go to the Bright Hill Evergreen Home and PEACE-Connect. Your participation will help improve the quality of life for the elderly.
7. Metta Charity Run 2017
Date: 26 August 2017 (Saturday)
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Venue: Singapore Sports Hub
Distance: 1.5km, 5km and 10km
The Metta Charity Run is an annual community event organised by Metta Welfare Association (Metta) to raise funds for the disability care, medical care, special education and early intervention programmes that Metta provides in aid of some 1,000 beneficiaries from across various races and religions. Assemble your squad and choose from 3 categories: Dynamic Duo 1.5km Parent & Child Fun Run, Powerful 5km or Legendary 10km.
8. SPD Ability Walk 2017
Date: 27 August 2017 (Sunday)
Time: 8 a.m.
Venue: Chinese Garden
Distance: 3km
SPD Ability Walk 2017 aims to raise funds to provide programmes and services that enable and empower people with disabilities to be independent and self-reliant. The Walk itself provides an opportunity for everyone of different abilities to walk together and serves to promote inclusion and raise awareness of disabilities.
9. Race For Charity 2017
Date: 10 September 2017 (Sunday)
Time: 8:30 a.m.
Venue: Ang Mo Kio Central Stage
Distance: 7 game stations
Form a team to compete in the race and learn about our country’s unique heritage while discovering interesting places in Singapore at the Race For Charity 2017. Race against time and solve clues for a good cause all in one day! The race aims to raise funds for the patients of Bright Vision Hospital.
10. Believe B60 Charity Run 2017
Date: 16 September 2017 (Saturday)
Time: 7 a.m.
Venue: Singapore Sports Hub
Distance: 60mins Fun Run or Walk, 31.5km B60 Tribe Team Relay
Believe B60 Charity Run invites people to join in without having to pay a registration fee but to make a minimum donation. 100% of donation raised will go to the beneficiaries of CCSS (Care Community Services Society) directly. Join B60 as they put smiles back into lives of under-privileged by demonstrating that we believe in them, and that they too can live empowered lives and fulfil their dreams and hopes.
11. Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2017
Date: 17 September 2017 (Sunday)
Time: 7 a.m.
Venue: SAF Field, Farnborough Road (near Changi Village)
Distance: 5km and 10km
Every year, over 9,000 ex-offenders complete their imprisonment and are released from the various prisons and drug rehabilitation centres (DRCs). Often, they find themselves literally stepping into a second prison, the one with invisible bars, of suspicion, mistrust and discrimination. The Yellow Ribbon Project hopes to promote a more accepting society, one that is willing to give ex-offenders a second chance at making good. Join the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 5km Walk, 5km Team Run, or 10km Competitive Run to support the Yellow Ribbon Project.
12. Let’s Take A Walk 2017
Date: 23 – 24 September 2017 (Saturday – Sunday)

Distance: 10km, 50km and 100km
Let’s Take A Walk is a non-profit endurance walking event. It is an activity that is simple, attainable by most and yet challenging given the distance to be covered and the amount of time spent on one’s feet. All proceeds (less operating costs) will be donated to Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL), a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving lives of caregivers of persons with mental illnesses.
13. Light Of Hope Run 2017
Date: 30 September 2017 (Saturday)
Time: 6 p.m.
Venue: Gardens by the Bay (East)
Distance: 3.5km and 7km
The Light of Hope Run was originally called the Make A Difference Race in 2015 and 2016. The race aims to raise public awareness and fight the social stigma related to depression and mental health. The event features a 7km competitive run and a 3.5km buddy fun run/walk.
14. Pink Ribbon Walk 2017
Date: 7 October 2017 (Saturday)
Time: 4 p.m.
Venue: Event Square @ Waterfront Promenade
Distance: 3.5km walk and 5km run
With 1,850 women being diagnosed each year, breast cancer remains as Singapore’s most common cancer among women. Show your support to the women affected by breast cancer by taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walk 3.5km walk or 5km fun run.
15. SIA Charity Run 2017
Date: 8 October 2017 (Sunday)

Venue: The Float @ Marina Bay
Distance: 5km and 10km
The SIA Charity Run is one of the charity activities Singapore Airlines is holding as part of our 70th Anniversary celebration. Through these activities, SIA will be raising funds for Community Chest of Singapore. Participants get to enjoy a picturesque run by joining 5km Fun Run or 10km Competitive Run, as well as 10km Corporate Challenge. A 3km Wheelathon is being introduced this year as a special category to encourage inclusiveness.
16. The Urgent Run Singapore 2017
Date: 28 October 2017 (Saturday)

Venue: Casuarina Grove, East Coast Park
Distance: 5km
The mission of Urgent Run is to provide clean toilets and sanitation conditions for everyone. People from all walks of life are welcome to come together and advocate for sanitation rights worldwide. Take part to help solve the global sanitation crisis now!
17. Run & Raisin’ 2017
Date: 5 November 2017 (Sunday)

Venue: OCBC Square (outside Stadium MRT Station)
Distance: 800m, 5km and 10km
Started in 2011, Run & Raisin‘ is an annual charity run and carnival organised by TOUCH Young Arrows (TYA). This year, it aims to raise $250,000 to benefit some 570 needy children and families of TYA, increase public awareness of TYA’s work in the community, as well as promote family bonding and a healthy lifestyle. Support this meaningful cause by signing up for the 800m Family Run, 5km Fun Run, 10km Competitive Run, or joining in the fun at the carnival!
18. SGX Bull Charge Charity Run 2017

Venue: F1 Pit Building
Distance: 3km and 5km
Every year, SGX Bull Charge Charity Run attracts more participants than any other corporate charity race in Singapore. Not only will you be running for a good cause, but the event will be a good opportunity for team bonding as CEOs race alongside employees to do their part for charity. This race welcomes corporate participation with 3 categories to choose from: 3km Chief Challenge, 5km Mass Run, or 5km Obstacle Team Challenge.
