You already know that the best time to run if you hope to escape everything from monsoon winds to showers is between February and April, and perhaps Reebok had this season in mind when they decided to introduce the Reebok Floatride Run Ultraknit.
These new running shoes are ready to take you any distance you choose—from 5km to 21km—but your mental attitude could experience the biggest boost of all: Reebok believes running makes us more human, especially when it becomes a way of life.
How does Reebok pull off shoe design that’s a unique mix of design and performance? It’s the company’s ongoing effort to stay on the leading edge of technology and engineering. Company innovators point to cushioning technology that’s extremely responsive. That’s how this shoe earned its name: runners float through runs and the company offers research roots that prove it.
Using materials and technology introduced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for the agency’s exploratory flights into the stratosphere, Reebok decided that it would be a clever idea to use these space-age materials to craft shoes. That’s how the company’s most “technologically-advanced running shoe to date” made its Singapore debut in early April.
What Can You Expect?
Aside from innovation and comfort, the Reebok Floatride Run Ultraknit is the recipient of a cosmetic makeover so even colors and yarns used to manufacture those Ultra Knit uppers do something few shoes can do: Every pair of shoes is a one-of-a-kind. Patterns and weaves are unique. Runners can tell friends that their new shoes were custom-made, because no other shoe from this collection features the same color or weave mix!
Slide on the Reebok Floatride Run Ultraknit and take it for a test drive while Singapore’s weather is idyllic. You’ll be stopped by folks sure to notice your fashion-forward footwear, but you can keep sprinting along if you wish to keep this information all to yourself. Go faster and longer thanks to cushioning technology that sets this shoe apart from other new introductions that debuted in April.
Engineering Meets Aesthetics
Given the current wave of popularity ascribed to the mesh running shoe, the Reebok Floatride Run Ultraknit stands out from the crowd. The precisely-engineered foam shell is pressure-set and engineered to deliver an equal mix of comfort and performance.
There are no seams, so runners don’t have to waste time attending to dirt and soil after runs and can instead focus on pace, distance and technique.
This shoe’s EVA sidewall feature balances and centers feet throughout the entirety of the gait cycle, so wearers find that they can pick up the pace and run faster. Further, the Reebok Floatride Run Ultraknit is breathable, ventilating feet so effectively, even when the Singapore heat rages, wearers find themselves complaining less and running more.
Size and Weight Matter
The Reebok Floatride Run Ultraknit shoe looks tough and weighty, but it’s so lightweight (at less than 9-ounces), sales clerks comment about the surprised looks on shopper’s faces when they try them on and lift their feet. After all, this product is crafted of space-age materials!
Exacting dimensions result in a clever silhouette and fit. There’s a 10mm drop; 17mm forefront and 27mm heel. But it’s the midsole’s Floatride foam content that is the cleverest element of all. You’ll understand why NASA invented this material for trips into outer space as soon as you slide them on.
Of course, runners are more concerned about inner space: the places they go and routes they’ll take to expend energy, set a PB or get in conditioning runs that only a lightweight, all-terrain shoe can handle with aplomb.
Finding fault with the Reebok Floatride Run Ultraknit is a challenging task, but we feel compelled to urge you to wear proper socks, especially for the break-in period, so you don’t rub a blister. This can be exacerbated if you don’t choose the right size and your feet wind up with too much room to “float around.”
For athletes on the other end of the continuum—your feet are larger, or you are in-between sizes—you can remove the inner cage to expand your wiggle room and enjoy the comfortable fit you have been seeking.
Bottom line
The Reebok Floatride Run Ultraknit is designed for a wide swathe of wearers: folks who take leisurely runs; those who just want a great pair of kicks to wear while running errands; and yes, fashionistas and dudes who appreciate being noticed when people stop and ask, “Where did you get those awesome-looking shoes?”
They’re new to the market but not new to the running community, so if you seek a new pair of lightweight running shoes that look as great as they perform, the Reebok Floatride Run Ultraknit should be on your shortlist now that they’re available at Singapore retailers who would love to show you how it feels to walk on clouds!
