Taking learnings from minimalism, Merrell designs light and fast trail running shoes for Spring 2014. The new AllOut Collection features a flexible underfoot wrap that mobilizes the arch.
Performance Running with Natural Movement
This unique design activates the body’s most natural form by creating continuous ground contact for increased mobility and efficiency.
Shaun Bohnsack, Outside Athletic product line developer at Merrell says:
“Consumers are seeking natural motion options that offer more protection underfoot without inhibiting movement. In the design of AllOut we are able to strike the perfect balance of natural movement and the necessary protection underfoot.”
Unleash Your Best Run and Hike
From design inception to creation, Merrell products are extensively tested in the lab and on the trail with the Rebound Physical Therapy Lab led by Jay Dicharry, who is a proponent of natural running form and efficiency.
Through his work in-lab and with outside athletes, Dicharry explores running and on-trail movement to isolate ways to reduce stress on the body while increasing power and effectiveness.
The All Out Series has both hiking and running options. Key running styles include: AllOut Fuse, a hybrid running shoe built to transition from road to trail; and AllOut Rush, for the trail or ultra runner looking for a training or race shoe to go the distance.
Increased Mobility, Impact Protection & Unique Outsole
Activate your body’s most efficient natural form with Merrell’s flexible underfoot wrap – shaped around the arch to create continous, flexible contact for increased mobility and efficiency.
In addition to arch activation, other key design features include the UniFly Impact Protection of ultra-resilient, strategically placed foam pads. These provide a soft landing by dispersing impact and allowing for stable takeoff, ample ground feel and protection to go further, faster and longer.
A unique M Select Grip outsole uses rubber that is built in a circular design that allows for each lug to move independently, providing multi-directional contact and increased surface area for a ride with animal-like agility.
Whether backpacking, speed hiking or trail running, AllOut supports the foot without inhibiting natural movement.
