Plantronics released the new BackBeat FIT and BackBeat GO lines at an exclusive media launch last month on 12 October. These unexpectedly affordable headphones offer everyday consumers a new and immersive audio experience. Features such as the Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) function assure that users hear and enjoy what matters most.
As a huge fan of ear and headphones technology, I was thrilled to learn about these new products and was honored to participate in this exciting event.
Upon arrival, I received a limited edition Be Boundless T-Shirt and a thumb drive wristband as a welcome gift. Before the rest of the media arrived, I took the opportunity to test the new products on display and interact with the brains behind the design.
To assure that these new headphones would stand out within the market, the designers focused on integrating the latest wireless technology while emphasising affordable pricing.
Even though it was a short media launch, Plantronics loaded the event with fun activities that highlighted the awesome features of their new products. First, I participated in a CrossFit session which introduced the BackBeat FIT 3100.
Utilising the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology, the BackBeat FIT 3100 is a true wireless sports headphones that will attract consumers who would like to “cut the cord” from regular headphones. There’s never a need to pause a workout with the BackBeat app, which makes everything available at the tip of your fingers.
The BackBeat FIT 3100 has an amazing battery life of up to five hours of play and talk time. A quick charging function provides up to one hour of listening time with just a 15-minute charge. A charge case can give an extra 10 hours of use.
This being my first CrossFit experience, I quickly realised how out of shape I was. It was, however, an awesome experience being able to engage in an intense workout while learning about the truly wireless capabilities of the BackBeat 3100.
Next, I participated in a cycling session that introduced the 3100’s sister product, the BackBeat 2100. With slightly different features, the BackBeat 2100 would be perfect for users who are still not familiar with the term “cutting the cord.”
The media launch ended with complimentary food and beverage, closing comments on the BackBeat GO series, and one final fitness challenge.
The “Be Boundless” challenge was a test to see who could burn the most calories within 60 seconds. The coveted prize was an exclusive BackBeat 3100, which lured many participants into the competition.
My score of 10 calories in 60 seconds stood as the high score for most of the challenge but was ultimately beaten by just 0.7 calories by the winner of the challenge. The Be Boundless media launch was an insightful media event.
Not only did I learn about incredible new headphone technology, but I was also inspired to start exercising again. The BackBeat 3100 headphones are a motivating piece of technology that I would definitely like to include in my exercise routine.
The new BackBeat FIT 3100 (Black and Grey) is now available in major retailers such as Challenger, Harvey Norman, Best Denki, TANGS, Robinsons, Changi Airport T1|2|3|4 and authorised retailers for S$249. The BackBeat FIT 2100 (Black, Grey, Blue and Lava Black) will be shipping in November 2018 for S$169, in time for the holiday shopping season.
