Ever since its debut in 2016, one of Nike’s own creation will finally be available in Southeast Asia. To celebrate its arrival in Southeast Asia, on 12-14 April, Nike will be holding trialing sessions of the revolutionary sneaker for customers at Dover Street Market Singapore from 11 am – 8 pm daily. The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will be launching in three colours – olive flak/black orange peel-sequoia, black/white and white/pure platinum and also featuring Nike’s latest innovation, adaptive lacing.
The shoe converts deep research in digital, electrical and mechanical engineering into a product designed for movement. It challenges the traditional understanding of fit, recommending an ultimate solution to individual idiosyncrasies in lacing and tension preference.
What’s new?
An excessive pressure that is caused by tight tying and slippage that results from loose laces will be history. Now with a shoe that is powered by an under-foot lacing mechanism, it proposes a ground-breaking solution to individual idiosyncrasies in lacing and able to fit preferences.
Through a unique testing process, it has the potential for a much greater application. Tinker Hatfield, Nike’s VP of Design and Creative Concepts said:
We ran an accelerated long-term test that we watched live and got immediate results that we entered into a live, sharable document so we could start to see patterns before the tests were even finished,
Hatfield also said that the method could actually be a benefit to a variety of new products and that they are already using the method for their new projects.
