Held on 9 December 2017, Santa Run for Wishes 2017, the annual charity fun run organised by Make-A-Wish Singapore, successfully raised S$500,000 in its fourth edition. Participants joined the fun run at The Promontory at Marina Bay while being dressed as Santa Claus and elves.
Runners participated in either 2km city exploration trail using LocoMole mobile app or 5km run from The Promontory to Marina Barrage and back. Among the supporters who came down to support the cause were Jason Chee, ASEAN Para Games gold medallist, as well as Para-athletes Muhammad Diroy Bin Noordin and Peter Kam.
The event was graced by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth. Minister Fu said,
I am happy to support the Santa Run for Wishes, which raises funds to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. During this festive season, let us look out for those around us. There are many ways for us to give back to the community, by volunteering our time and effort, or contributing a donation. Every little effort grows the SG Cares movement to build a kind, compassionate Singapore.

Make-A-Wish Singapore has granted wishes to over 1,300 children with life-threatening medical conditions to date, with the hope of bringing joy and strength to many more eligible children in Singapore this coming 2018.
Funds from this year’s Santa Run for Wishes will go a long way in bringing a sparkle in wish children’s lives.
In the spirit of Christmas, there is no better way to kick off this holiday season than giving back!
