Runners who have signed up for the race called the organiser “irresponsible” for not sending any email update explaining to them the real reason of the cancellation.
The official event website indicates that Wisdom Sports Malaysia, Ministry of Tourism & Culture (MOTAC), Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) and Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS) are the organisers of this marathon event, with the support from Tourism Malaysia.
The marathon has three categories — a 42km full marathon, a 21km half marathon, and a 10km run with registrations fees ranged from RM95 to RM120 per participants, and early-bird promotions priced from RM70 to RM90.
The organiser did not reply to queries, or could not be reached for response.
