The Swissotel Vertical Marathon returns on 23 November this year! Towering at a height of 226 metres as one of Southeast Asia’s tallest hotels, Swissotel The Stamford has been the site for Asia’s most gruelling Vertical Marathon since its inauguration in 1987.
This world-class tower running competition will see more than 2,200 participants blaze up 1,336 steps over 73 stories in the shortest time possible.
Part of the World Cup Grand Prix Series
The Swissotel Vertical Marathon is one of 21 races selected for the Towerrunning World Cup Grand Prix Series 2014, which unites some of the world’s most iconic skyscraper races in the world, including the Sydney Tower in Australia and Menara Tower in Malaysia.
Men’s and Women’s Open Champions will each receive an attractive cash prize of S$3,000 and a trophy. Special awards will also go to the Most Creatively Dressed participant, as well as Oldest Male and Female participants!
In Support of Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School
The annual Vertical Marathon is Swissotel’s way of contributing positively to the community in which it operates and, as well as inspiring a culture of sporting excellence in Singapore and around the world.
This year, they aim to raise S$30,000 for their adopted charity, Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School, which provides special education for children with multiple disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder between 7 and 18 years old. You can also do your part by making an additional donation during registration.
We had a really good time at last year’s Swissotel Vertical Marathon! Not many races have their finish line 226 metres high with an excellent view of the Singapore skyline!
The Swissotel Vertical Marathon will take place on 23 November 2014. Early bird registrations are available until 30 September 2014. Normal registration rates apply from 1 October to 31 October 2014.
