On the early morning of 31 August, more than 4,000 runners gathered at the Bien Dong Park in the costal city of Da Nang, all ready to run for the Da Nang International Marathon 2014!
Sponsored by La Vie, the Da Nang International Marathon was held for the second time in the coastal city Da Nang. This year, the race officially became the 97th member of AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).
Runners enjoyed the greater scale of professionalism that went into the organisation of this year’s event, which provided a fascinating playground for runners of all ages.
Attracting an International Group of Runners to Beautiful Da Nang
With the primary purpose to promote a healthy lifestyle for the Vietnamese community, more than 4,000 runners, including 500 international runners from 27 countries, took part in the full marathon, half marathon and 5km distances, including professional athletes, amateur tourists, and Da Nang residents.
The race started on the picturesque Da Nang Beach, and runners had an enjoyable experience at the beautiful and exotic beach city. Special activities this year included spa and massages for athletes after the race.
With the success of this year’s race, Da Nang International Marathon promoted the stunning natural beauty of Vietnam to athletes from all over the world, while simultaneously raising awareness of living a healthy lifestyle and sustainable tourism in Vietnam.
With this year’s resounding success, race organisers have announced that next year’s Da Nang International Marathon will continue to be hosted in Da Nang City, and is slated to take place on 30 August 2015.
